A site with local NVR recording may need a different uplink from a site that continuously sends every stream to the cloud. Write the recording mode and number of remote users into the requirement before calculating capacity.<\/p>\n

The approved sample should be tested for at least the normal movement pattern, not just a still view. Measure average and peak bitrate, playback delay, dropped frames, reconnect time and storage results. If the customer later adds cameras, keeps a second stream or opens remote monitoring, repeat the capacity calculation. Network margin is part of the product’s practical value.<\/p>\n

Remote viewing also has a user-behavior component. Several phones opening high-resolution live view can create a burst of traffic that was absent during the installer test. Playback scrubbing, clip export and cloud uploads may use different streams or server paths. Document the normal number of remote users and test the busiest expected period, especially for a multi-site operation.<\/p>\n

Packet loss and delay are not the same symptom. A delayed but continuous picture may point to buffering or a slow route, while blocky frames and jumps may point to loss, retransmission or an overloaded encoder. Ask the installer to note time, channel, user action and recovery behavior. A precise record prevents the supplier from being asked to solve a switch problem with a camera replacement.<\/p>\n

After a network change, repeat the test rather than assuming the old result still applies. New access points, additional phones, a changed router policy or a second recorder can alter the available capacity.
